Day 11
Matthew 6:25-34
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Jesus essentially teaches that we can be consumed by every need, concern and challenge that life presents, or we can seek God’s kingdom and righteousness and discover that everything we need, and all that matters, will be given - by Him. Think of the peace we can enjoy and the aggravation we can avoid in trusting God with the first things!
Our desire is to think vision-first, and to prayerfully seek God’s kingdom as we assemble budgets and make plans, rather than put a ceiling on what we assume God can do, or fear He won’t! We pray, deliberate, study the numbers and prepare, in the assurance that God will always mysteriously enter into the ministries that He has led us to. And we find great joy in this!
What are concerns and responsibilities that tend to consume you and threaten your desire to trust the Lord with generosity?
